Swap Sketch

January 19, 2013

It didn’t take long for things to get going at our first food swap of 2013. As swappers rolled into the Screening Room at the Bungalow Building and tables quickly filled with everything from Blackberry Jam, Banana Chocolate Chip Muffins, Upside Down Cake, Rosemary Syrup, Organic Lemon Bars, Chai Tea Mix and a variety of tinctures and much more. What’s even more exciting is that we welcomed 9 new swappers to our Long Beach Food Swap family and showed them how much fun it is to trade their time and resources for a something new.  Believe it or not just two hours before our swap the room was filled wall to wall with dresses for a bridal show fundraiser, so I want to thank Alli, Nick, Matthew, Dan and Ina for helping us quickly prepare the room for our swap, thank you to Matt for taking pictures, and a special thanks to the Ina for helping us secure the venue for this swap. We look forward to seeing everyone at the next swap and encourage you keep jamming, fermenting, baking, growing, and harvesting!

Our second swap was 13 participants strong and a alot of fun.  It was a very hot summer day but we managed to find ample shade to enjoy our late afternoon/evening swap.  We had several new swappers and tons of delicious food.

Thank you to everyone who came out and shared their creations.  I am always impressed with the new items we get to enjoy each time we meet.
